Triplebeam Pictures Returns With K.O.P.C 2 Reloaded

In 2011, film producer/actor Dwayne “DL” Clark brought you King of Paper Chasin’ (KOPC), a well put-together hip hop crime thriller that became an underground sensation.

Directed by LaMonte Edwards, Clark played K.O.P.C’s lead role as Carter Blanche (aka Cart Blanche), the head of a criminal organization who desires to legitimize his illicit fortune by transitioning into the entertainment business.

In summer of 2013, Clark announced in an interview with the Music Industry News Network (Mi2N.com) that he began production on a sequel to his 2011 cult classic called K.O.P.C. 2: Reloaded.

“I’m thrilled to be working on the sequel to King of Paper Chasin’,” Clark told Mi2N.com. “The original was a project very near and dear to me, and I’m excited to share in the extended vision of this project that is just as dear to others,” he continued.

With the rising popularity of hip hop inspired, street TV shows, such as “Power” and “Empire,” urban cinema is making a convincing and epic return to the small screen.

Hip hop culture and urban cinema just made a recent explosion on the big screen too. “Straight Outta Compton” is a compelling biopic about hip hop supergroup N.W.A. It stole the number one spot at the box office this past August for three weeks in a row.

“Straight Outta Compton” is also the highest-grossing music biopic of all time. Success stories like these definitely show that an offering like K.O.P.C. 2: Reloaded can work.

Clark’s words in his 2013 interview seem to foreshadow his sequel’s future success when asked if he wanted to see K.O.P.C. 2: Reloaded be more received that its predecessor.

K.O.P.C. 2: Reloaded is set to do just that. The film will feature some of today’s most popular celebrities in music, including those in the high-demand genre of hip hop.

“As a filmmaker and an artist, I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Clark said.
