Waka Flocka Flame recently appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, where he revealed his feelings about gender identities and, most notably, former Olympic athlete and reality television star Caitlyn Jenner.
The Atlanta rapper, when discussing the topic of modern day television, made it known that he did not support the transgender lifestyle of Jenner.
“I ain’t saying nothing against Bruce Jenner,” he said. “You are who you are when God makes you, not who you are after he did. That’s just how I feel.”
Then, he continued by stating that those who transgender may be weak and susceptible to influences from “the Devil”. “You rebuking God, man,” said the rapper. According to him, gender identity issues are actually challenges that should be overcome rather than embraced. “That’s a test from God. If you can’t outbeat that one task and you believe that, then you can believe everything else and you going down that way.”
Waka also shared his concerns for today’s youth and their impressionable minds with the media showing more nontraditional gender roles.
“They don’t market husbands and wives no more,” he said. “They’re marketing young girls, transgenders. They’re marketing evil. It’s really evil.”
Jenner came out as a trans woman in early 2015, starting with an interview with Barbara Walters for 20/20. In June, she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair, where she debuted her name change and new image. She currently stars in I Am Cait, a reality series on E! that documents her life as a woman and the relationship with her family and friends.
